My name is Robert Southerland. I travel the United States looking for photo opportunities on a nearly daily basis. I have been taking photos for as long as I can remember. I love to take pictures! A photo however is more than a picture. It has composure, feeling and soul. When someone looks at one of my photos, I want them to feel the photo, not just look at it. I will admit that not all of my photos are like this but, sometimes, when the light is just right and the luck is in my favor, I come up with a great shot.

SWIS: SWIS is an idea that I came up with so that I could share the photos I take on the road across this great country of ours. SWIS stands for "SEE WHAT I SEE." Bi-weekly, I upload the photos that I have shot into a slide show and send out an update alert to all the people on my mailing list so that they may view and comment at their leisure.

You too can be added to this update alert. Simply click the blue SWIS button on this page and it will forward you to the SWIS site. Just below the main window, you will see a link to join Big Dog's mailing list. Fill that out completely and send it off and you will receive an alert the next time the site is updated with new photos. The new slides are always at the green go button and all the past archives are to the left listed by date.
